Managing Fixtures and Home Systems
Fixtures and home systems form the backbone of your property — HVAC units, water heaters, softeners, sump pumps, filtration systems, and more. Unlike movable inventory items, fixtures stay with the property and often require structured maintenance. Spanr helps you manage them with clarity and confidence.
What Counts as a Fixture?
A fixture is any system that is permanently installed or built into the property. Examples include:
- Water heaters
- HVAC and condensers
- Water softeners
- Filtration systems
- Thermostats
- Sump pumps
- Fireplaces
- Irrigation systems
These items have dedicated data fields in Spanr because they influence your care activities and safety reminders.
Adding a Fixture
When you add a fixture, Spanr provides a guided form tailored to the specific system type.
You’ll be able to record:
- Basic details: label, space, installer information
- Model or capacity information
- System-specific settings (e.g., tank size, fuel type, filter type, installation dates)
- Notes or additional metadata
These details form the basis of personalized care activities and routines generated for your property.
How Spanr Uses Fixture Data
Your fixture information powers:
- Predictive care reminders
- Climate-adjusted maintenance schedules
- System-specific safety checks
- Context-aware troubleshooting
For example, a water heater’s tank size, age, and installation method influence how often flushing is recommended. HVAC units rely on filter size and type to plan replacement cycles.
Photos and Recordkeeping
Pictures help future you — and future service technicians.
You can upload:
- Installation photos
- Serial/model labels
- Breaker panel positions
- Shut-off valve locations
- Receipts or service documents
All of these remain part of the fixture’s permanent history.
Free Plan Limits
Fixtures count toward your total Spanr item limit:
