How to Add Appliances to Spanr
Adding your appliances is one of the fastest ways to unlock the full value of Spanr. Each appliance you add becomes part of your digital home record, giving you instant access to manuals, warranty details, care reminders, and personalized troubleshooting powered by Dr. Spanr.
Adding an Appliance
You can add an appliance in two ways:
1. Scan the product label
Use your phone’s camera to scan the manufacturer label found on the appliance (commonly inside the door frame, behind the unit, or along the side panel).
Spanr automatically identifies the appliance’s brand and model, helping you avoid typos and ensuring your records are accurate.
2. Enter details manually
If the label is hard to reach, you can type in the brand, model, and other details. Spanr will still try to match your appliance to its database so it can retrieve relevant documentation.
What Spanr Automatically Pulls In
When Spanr recognizes your appliance model, it automatically adds:
- The official user manual
- Warranty information (when available)
- Product specifications
- Energy usage and maintenance guidelines
These details allow Dr. Spanr to give model-specific troubleshooting, smarter self-help steps, and tailored care reminders.
Editing and Organizing Appliances
After adding an appliance, you can:
- Assign it to a space (e.g., Kitchen, Laundry Room, Garage)
- Update the label, model, or notes
- Add photos (installation area, serial label, receipts, etc.)
- Move it to a different space anytime
Photos and receipts you upload become part of the appliance’s long-term digital record.
Item Limits on the Free Plan
Spanr Free allows you to track:
- 1 property
- Up to 20 total items (appliances + fixtures combined)
If you reach the limit, simply remove items you no longer own to free up space.
If you need help scanning a label or identifying a model, just ask Dr. Spanr — it can walk you through where to look.
